The City of Haifa, where the sea is visible from almost every window and balcony, is blessed with a large natural bay, beaches open to the sea, beaches protected by storms (Kiryat Haim) and a very sheltered beach – Bat Galim – the only one on the Mediterranean coast in the country facing east-west. Haifa’s unique geographical location has made it a national center for windsurfers that is well-known all over the world. Alongside these, the city is blessed with a large commercial port and marina located in the Kishon River, which provides the best protection in the country against storms – the Shavit fishing anchorage. The potential is huge but it has not really been fully tapped.

Our objective is to increase the volume of marine activity in the city, to develop the culture of the sea and to promote the field of “blue economy,” which holds great opportunities. Extensive marine and coastal activity will add color to the city, stimulate tourism and add more jobs, recreation and leisure.
